Job Description This Opportunity
WSP is seeking a Vice President, Wildlife Biologist responsible for managing and developing opportunities. The candidate will work with WSP's successful Biological Resources technical staff and expand the firm’s visibility within key sectors and client organizations in the environmental services marketplace. This role is based in San Diego, CA, and requires a balanced portfolio of wildlife biology and natural resources permitting skills, including business development and relationship-building, with existing connections in Southern California, specifically San Diego.
Your Impact
Provide leadership in technical, business development, financial, and administrative aspects to sustain and grow the environmental operation and related disciplines.
Coordinate with other units across the West U.S. and the company.
Develop strategic plans and financial budgets for the group.
Lead business development efforts.
Manage financial aspects with monthly and quarterly reports.
Communicate effectively with clients, staff, and leadership.
Develop staff and recruit new prospects for growth.
Ensure quality delivery of products.
Provide senior review and technical project guidance.
Serve as project manager or expert on specific tasks or projects.
Who You Are Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, or related field.
12+ years of experience in a corporate environment with technical and management roles in environmental consulting, including local market sectors.
Experience in growing client programs using multidisciplinary resources.
Expert knowledge of biological principles, flora, fauna, habitats of California, special-status species, and relevant regulations.
Leadership experience with diverse project teams.
Ability to influence and lead team members.
Excellent communication skills.
Proven safety culture and advocacy experience.
Ability to pass background checks and have a satisfactory driving record.

Compensation Salary range: $128,400 - $231,200, based on experience and location.
