Position Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Associate will be a key player in SAFE’s Minerals Center team. This position will provide a range of support to the Minerals Center and is specifically responsible for coordinating the Minerals Center’s external affairs, in conjunction with the relevant SAFE teams (Development and Communications).

Responsibilities

Associate responsibilities include but are not limited to:

External Relationship Support Supports the Executive Director and team by coordinating meetings with partners and ensuring maintenance of strong partnerships through follow ups; Provides materials for meetings like talking points and briefing memos; Drafts meeting takeaway documents and manages next steps and follow-ups; Conducts related research as necessary for partner engagement, including regular partner press clips. Administrative Support Provide team with general administrative support, from scheduling, booking space for meetings to maintaining records in Salesforce. Research Relevant research as deemed necessary as new projects arise.

Knowledge & Experience

Professional Skills and Qualifications

1-3 years of experience in energy and/or minerals policy. Experience conducting research on a variety of topics with ability to pivot as needed.

Skills & Abilities

Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Strong writing and communication skills.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, International Relations, Geology, or Materials Science preferred.

Salary/Benefits

The opportunity garners a competitive salary and benefits package. The offer will be reflective of a candidate’s individual experience level within the range of $60,000 - $65,000. SAFE provides a generous health benefits package covering up to 100% of premiums for employees and their families, 401K with 3% employer contribution and life insurance, as well as other benefits to be detailed in the offer. The individual will be based in Washington, D.C. and will work from SAFE’s conveniently-located office.
