Description Wellness Equity Alliance (WEA) is a novel national public health organization comprised of a multidisciplinary team of population and public health experts with backgrounds in infectious disease, public health, emergency medicine, primary care, cardiology, pediatrics, psychiatry, community health work (CHW), nursing, and advanced practice pharmacy. We work nearly exclusively with underrepresented communities, fundamentally addressing health-care disparities and the social determinants of health (SDoH) that have been amplified during the COVID-19 pandemic, prioritizing: Rural communities BIPoC communities LGBTQIA+ communities Justice-impacted communities The WEA team is diverse, inclusive, and nimble enough to assemble teams of healthcare professionals within days using our proven local staff recruitment models to address population health crises and communicable disease outbreaks. Our partnership model is collaborative, enabling hospitals, health jurisdictions, and government agencies to provide timely, equitable care to marginalized communities. Purpose of the position The fractional COO is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing WEA's operational performance and efficiency. This role requires exceptional leadership, project management skills, and a deep understanding of healthcare operations. The COO will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence, ensure compliance, and deliver high-quality healthcare services across regions. Operational Leadership

Provide strategic direction and leadership to regional teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Oversee implementation of executive decisions and serve as the primary interface for divisions. Ensure WEA clinical operations are established, operated, and demobilized efficiently, including:

HIV street medicine Mobile unit-based health centers Reentry programs focused on substance use Tribal health programs Public health extension services

Manage operational budgets in collaboration with the controller. Represent WEA to external stakeholders regarding operations. Advise clinical leadership on operational development and support. Develop policies and procedures as needed. Attend relevant meetings as indicated by the CEO. Supervise regional directors of operations, administrative operations, and pharmacy officers. Oversee regional office operations, resource allocation, and performance. Monitor site activities to meet community healthcare needs. Develop initiatives to motivate and develop teams, fostering collaboration. Ensure efficient service delivery, compliance, and continuous improvement. Coordinate projects and facilitate communication with stakeholders. Lead new program launches, define objectives, and monitor outcomes. Team Management

Lead, coach, and develop regional directors and project managers. Delegate authority, promote accountability, and set performance expectations. Maintain clear reporting structures and communication channels. Stakeholder Engagement

Build strong relationships with clinics, partners, and regulatory bodies. Performance & Compliance

Implement performance metrics and quality improvements. Ensure compliance with laws and regulations (HIPAA, OSHA, etc.). Use data analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Qualifications & Education

Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related; Master’s preferred. At least 5 years in healthcare operations management and leadership. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and quality processes. Excellent communication and leadership skills. Proficiency in data analysis, financial reporting, and project management tools. Commitment to quality healthcare and working with diverse populations. Preferred Skills
