Job Overview – Corporate Development Director (M&A):

Our client is hiring a Corporate Development Director (M&A) in Wilmington, DE (Hybrid). In this strategic role, you’ll lead end-to-end M&A transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships. You’ll collaborate with senior leadership, legal, finance, and external advisors to drive deal strategy, due diligence, execution, and post-close integration. Ideal candidates have experience in investment banking, consulting, or corporate development with full deal lifecycle ownership.
Responsibilities as the Corporate Development Director (M&A):
Deal Execution:
Lead end-to-end M&A transactions, including strategy, structuring, negotiation, and execution. Strategic Targeting:
Evaluate acquisitions, divestitures, and early-stage investments aligned with business growth goals. Cross-Functional Oversight:
Manage due diligence with legal, finance, operations, and external advisors. Valuation & Modeling:
Oversee DCF models, precedent comps, and valuation analyses to guide decision-making. Executive Reporting:
Prepare and present findings, recommendations, and valuation summaries to senior leadership and the board. Qualifications for the Corporate Development Director (M&A):
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required (MBA strongly preferred). Experience: 5-10 years of end-to-end M&A transaction experience in investment banking, consulting, or corporate development, with a strong preference for full deal lifecycle ownership. Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling platforms. Industry Knowledge:
Strong grasp of M&A strategy, financial analysis, deal structuring, integration planning, and cross-functional collaboration. Skills & Attributes: Strategic, analytical, and highly organized, with strong negotiation, communication, and global collaboration experience.
