Project Director, Renewables
to our Energy South division. You will lead engineering development solutions and projects, focusing on Solar PV & Energy Storage applications. Responsibilities include: Overseeing project activities during development. Managing project objectives, deal structure, scope, schedule, budget, and customer expectations. Transitioning projects from feasibility to development to implementation. Negotiating customer contracts and minimizing organizational risks. You will also: Support and lead project teams in deploying renewable energy projects. Serve as primary or secondary contact with customers alongside regional account executives. Educate internal and external stakeholders on offerings and upgrades. Make presentations and act as a technical SME. Position-specific responsibilities include: Being a renewable energy policy and market expert, developing go-to-market strategies for the South region. Engaging with regional renewable energy policies in Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico. Focusing on behind-the-meter Solar PV and Energy Storage projects, while supporting all renewable projects. Maintaining client relationships and defining project strategies with regional teams. Driving business growth through strategic planning and sales support. Supporting sales with assessments, proposals, and presentations. Managing relationships with industry stakeholders. Leadership responsibilities include coaching, mentoring, and managing project teams, fostering McKinstry’s culture. Qualifications for Success BA/BS in Business, Finance, Economics, Architecture, or related field. 10+ years in business, project finance, renewable energy, or related fields. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SharePoint and CRM preferred. Knowledge of solar & energy storage markets, financing, policies, and project development. Experience with public sector markets and complex project negotiations. Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
