Your Impact to the Mission: This

Deputy Project Manager

will have responsibility for Airport security operations in a designated terminal or overall operations at and Airport site, including Passenger, Checked Baggage, and Layered Security Screening. Reports directly to the Project Manager (PM) or designee on security-related issues. The member will direct the work of Staff Duty Officers (SDOs) to ensure the requirements of TSA’s Checkpoint/Checked Baggage SOPs are met. This role involves maintaining an executive-level view of operations, overseeing staff performance and development via the SDOs, and ensuring operational consistency and efficiency through daily communication with command SDOs. The Deputy Project Manager should not assume personal responsibility for all operational functions; appropriate delegation of authority within specific tasks is expected for efficient management. Experience Needed to Be Successful:

At least 5 years of management experience in aviation security, airport operations, or personnel security services. The duties of the Deputy Project Manager include: Overseeing passenger, baggage, and layered security screening operations; ensuring efficiency and effectiveness; providing guidance to staff to improve organizational performance. Delegating tasks to develop staff skills and monitoring performance for leadership growth. Collaborating with TSA counterparts to ensure policy adherence and implementation of new directives. Developing relationships with stakeholders. Overseeing incident management, workplace investigations, disciplinary issues, and ensuring policy compliance. Upholding TSA Mission and VMD core values in customer service and professionalism. Participating in meetings and providing operational direction. Managing staffing schedules, peak loads, and special events/incidents. Balancing non-standard hours, minimizing overtime, and ensuring fair scheduling. Implementing improvements and mentoring staff. Monitoring performance metrics and equipment maintenance. Overseeing cargo screening, workplace safety, and employee timesheets. Qualifications:

Associate Degree (or additional experience in lieu of degree). Minimum 10 years overall experience, with at least 7 in the specific field. Public Trust clearance required. US Citizenship required. What We Offer: Salary: $140,000 - $175,000 annually. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401K, paid leave, flexible spending, life insurance, disability, and tuition reimbursement.
