The successful candidate will oversee safety inspections of bridges and tunnels, lead in-depth inspections, coordinate with various agencies, and manage team members. Key Responsibilities
Conduct safety inspections and prepare reports on bridge and tunnel conditions. Lead in-depth inspections using non-destructive testing, mechanized access, and climbing gear. Assess post-incident damages and recommend actions. Coordinate inspection schedules, traffic control, and agency communications. Provide leadership, training, and performance feedback to team members. Opportunity to work on bridge load ratings and design projects. Qualifications
Experience leading inspection teams and maintaining professional relationships. Current qualification for NBIS as a bridge or tunnel inspection team leader. Completion of FHWA inspection courses and current refresher status. Knowledge of inspection methods, reporting, and safety procedures. Physical ability to perform inspections in challenging environments. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; preferred MassDOT/MBTA Inspection Team Leader certification. Valid driver’s license and P.E. license preferred.
