The Child and Special Needs Unit Program Director maintains direct oversight of the clinical and administrative operations of Westborough Behavioral Healthcare Hospitals’ Child and Special Needs Unit. The Program Director will be responsible for establishing a strong child behavioral health model that guides the program’s clinical framework and service provision.

Full-time 40 hours per week Responsibilities: Lead a multidisciplinary team of clinical, consultative, and support staff to support the social-emotional, behavioral, and educational development of children in the program. Ensure the collection, review, analysis, and reporting of data related to outcomes for children, families, and programs served. Facilitate team meetings and training for staff, childcare providers, parents/caregivers, and external stakeholders. Utilize techniques such as positive behavioral support and treatment models designed to help stabilize children in crisis, reduce high-risk symptoms, and support children and adolescents with special needs as they build skills to overcome behavioral health challenges. Assist with structured daily programming aimed at engaging each patient in developmentally appropriate therapy, school, and daily living experiences, as well as therapeutic activities to help organize children and adolescents during crises, provide opportunities to learn and practice coping skills, and assess responses to various situations. Collaborate closely with Nursing staff to ensure patient care and regulatory requirements are met. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, orienting, training, supervising, and managing staff, including clinical consultants and support staff. The Program Director will also manage staffing levels and budgets according to the NRPPD staffing grid. Education and/or Licensure Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution. Valid Massachusetts RN license in good standing. Experience 5+ years of managerial and clinical experience in a therapeutic treatment setting serving young children and the special needs population. Proficiency in using computer systems for clinical information management. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to produce timely written reports. Experience working in an acute psychiatric setting with supervisory responsibilities.
