Job Description
We are looking for a strategic, experienced Sr. Product Manager to lead the vision, roadmap, monetization, and execution of extensible capabilities within the Plex platform, including APIs, visual workflows, data model extensions, custom apps, and document composition. Additionally, you will lead the integration of AI capabilities and copilots within these features and work towards creating a marketplace for customers and partners to share, discover, and leverage custom-built apps and templates.
Plex, by Rockwell Automation, is at the forefront of transforming manufacturing operations with our cloud-based Manufacturing Execution System (MES), recognized as a market leader by multiple analyst reports, including Gartner's Magic Quadrant for MES. This is an exciting opportunity to drive the future of manufacturing software by combining advanced platform extensibility with AI-driven insights, empowering customers to solve complex needs more efficiently while also promoting a vibrant ecosystem of third-party contributors and partners.
We ask that you have a balance of deep technical understanding, strategic skills, and strong customer-facing capabilities. While reporting to Product Management, you will also be an important figure connecting engineering, domain specialists, sales teams, and customers, ensuring Plex continues to lead the market through intelligent innovation.
Your Responsibilities
Lead the vision, strategy, and monetization approach for Plex's extensibility platform, allowing customers to easily adapt Plex to their evolving needs through visual, low-code tooling, flexible APIs, and seamless interoperability across systems. Establish clear metrics to measure and demonstrate the success, adoption, and value of extensible capabilities. Oversee the product lifecycle for extensibility features, including data model extensions, workflows, UI builders, composable applications, and document composer, with an additional focus on integrating AI into these capabilities. Collaborate with engineering and design teams to deliver impactful product releases. Work closely with domain-specific Product Managers to ensure extensibility features are seamlessly embedded within each application. Facilitate cross-team collaboration to drive product flexibility, minimize the need for internal development, and empower sales, services, and solutions engineering teams with the tools and knowledge to maximize customer value. Engage with customers to gather feedback, understand their needs, and iterate on solutions. Ensure that extensibility tools are designed to provide both immediate and long-term value for customers. Build a vibrant ecosystem by working with partners to create and distribute apps, templates, and solutions. Lead the creation of a marketplace or app repository where customers can access these solutions. Communicate progress to senior leadership, sales, and marketing teams. Lead customer and sales conversations, clearly explaining the vision, benefits, and roadmap.
The Essentials - You Will Have
Bachelor's Degree in Relevant Field Legal authorization to work in the U.S. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
