The Head of School serves as the chief academic and spiritual leader of Divine Mercy Academy, responsible for implementing the school’s mission and overseeing its daily operations. This role requires a dynamic leader who can foster a Christ-centered environment, promote academic excellence, and build strong relationships with faculty, students, parents, and the broader community. Key Responsibilities: Spiritual Leadership: Uphold and promote the Catholic identity of the school, ensuring that Catholic teachings and values are integrated into all aspects of the school’s culture and curriculum. Foster a Christ-centered environment that encourages spiritual growth among students, faculty, and staff. Promote a culture that adheres to the Core Values. Academic Leadership: Oversee the implementation of the school’s unique educational approach, which combines the Montessori method with classical content, focusing on rich texts, cyclical learning, concrete concepts, and the Socratic method. Ensure that the curriculum supports the intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and academic development of all students. Support and mentor faculty in classical pedagogy and Montessori methods. Administrative Management: Manage the daily operations of the school, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Recruit, hire, and evaluate faculty and staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as adherence to accrediting agency standards. Community Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with parents, encouraging their active involvement and honoring their role as primary educators. Engage with the broader community and parishes to promote the school’s mission and values. Serve as the primary spokesperson for the school, effectively communicating its vision and achievements to stakeholders. Student Support and Formation: Demonstrate a commitment to serving children with special needs, fostering an inclusive and compassionate educational experience for all students. Oversee student discipline and behavioral policies, promoting a restorative approach aligned with Catholic values. Applicant is required to be Catholic.
