We serve over 33,000 New Yorkers annually within your neighborhoods and communities, and our success depends on those we employ. The Role Under the general direction of the Program Director or Operations Coordinator I, the Operations Coordinator II (Senior Shift Supervisor) is responsible for monitoring the shelter environment and specific program systems to ensure security, efficiency, and safety during assigned shifts. Responsibilities include monitoring and enforcing the treatment services schedule and coordinating additional events to ensure all services are delivered as scheduled and clients' external appointments are dispatched. The role also involves serving as a lead to Shift Supervisors as needed. Please Note:
Candidates must have an FDNY F-80 Certificate of Fitness for Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm Systems. Responsibilities
What You Will Do Supervise and monitor the facility to ensure cleanliness, security, and safety practices are followed and effective. Oversee the therapeutic environment to ensure behavioral guidelines are maintained, a therapeutic milieu is upheld, and interpersonal relationships remain positive. Conduct fire and safety inspections throughout the facility, ensuring adherence to health and safety guidelines. Review client escort selections for appointments to ensure appropriateness. Review scheduled internal and external client appointments for that shift and ensure attendance. Participate in required training and obtain certifications including CPR/First Aid/Food Handler and F-80 Certification. Familiarize with the daily program schedule to ensure timely execution of events and attendance of all parties involved. Qualifications
Who You Will Be High School Diploma or equivalent. At least one year of experience as a Shift Supervisor or House Manager in a shelter, transitional, or permanent supportive housing setting, with experience working with NYC Department of Homeless Services (DHS) or similar city organizations. Previous management experience is strongly preferred. Must have FDNY F-80 Certificate of Fitness for Coordinator of Fire Safety and Alarm Systems. Willingness to obtain CPR Certification while employed at SDV. Willingness to obtain NYC Food Handler’s Certificate as needed for designated sites and program requirements. Experience working with diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
