Regulatory Affairs Manager

provides leadership, direction, and management in implementing regulatory policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure chemical and product regulatory compliance. Supports the business and functional teams to integrate product compliance and risk management controls during all phases of product development and commercialization. Implements environmental programs, plans, and procedures for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Postion Responsibilities

Manage hazard communication compliance (GHS). Maintain and update regulatory systems for authoring SDSs, labels, and regulatory content with changing regulations. Coordinate the submission of automotive IMDS requests. Submit and maintain the CSAT Site Vulnerability Assessment (SVA) and Site Security Plan (SSP) under DHS. Prepare and ensure timely submission of environmental reports to government agencies including Tier II, TRI, Title V, and RCRA. Manage these activities with consulting services. Manage the process for proper hazardous waste disposal in compliance with EPA. Provide proper hazardous materials classification with DOT, TDG, IMDG, and IATA, and support documentation, packaging, and labeling for transportation. Establish training requirements on chemical management for facility personnel and provide for the professional development of regulatory staff. Develop and maintain procedures, processes, and submissions for compliance with EPA TSCA, Canada NSN, and other chemical control laws as necessary. Manage trade compliance with NAFTA, HTS assignments, and provide necessary documentation for import and export activities. Communicate new and emerging regulations and legislation relating to chemical management with the business to minimize risk and liability. Support product development with notifications or submissions to EPA FIFRA and FDA food contact. Manage Chemtrec emergency response services. Provide for new hire orientation on regulatory policy. Review new chemicals introduced into products or processes for regulatory and safety concerns. Support and provide guidance on ERP (Deacom) functions through new part creation, raw material additions, chemical compositions, and regulatory data. Manage hazardous waste in the accumulation areas. Prepare hazardous waste manifests and load containers onto trucks. Prepare waste purchase orders and review manifests through regulatory and purchasing departments. Manage the hazardous waste compliance program for the facility. Coordinate with EHS on RCRA training. Position Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Health & Safety or Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Chemistry, or related safety/environmental safety degree. 7+ years of progressive experience in Regulatory Affairs, Product Stewardship, or EHS department at an industrial or manufacturing facility. Working knowledge of regulations and standards such as GHS, FDA, TSCA, CEPA, DSL, FIFRA, RCRA, etc. Experience with SDS authoring systems and ERP management. Experience with 5S, continuous improvement processes, and ISO management systems is strongly preferred.
