System Administrator (Contract-to-Hire) Bolingbrook, IL (onsite) 3-Month Contract with Potential for Full-Time
We are seeking a
skilled, hands-on System Administrator
to join our infrastructure operations team at our
Metro
Chicago site . This is a
3-month contract role
with the potential to transition into a permanent position based on performance and business needs. If you thrive on solving problems, own your projects from start to finish, and enjoy working across Windows, storage, and networking environments, this could be the perfect opportunity.
What You’ll Do Administer and maintain
Windows Server 2016/2019/2022
(Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS/DHCP, File/Print, NTFS, DFS). Configure switches (both Cisco and Dell) and implement them. Manage VMware vSphere/ESXi environments (VM deployment, vMotion, snapshots). Oversee storage systems (SAN/NAS, snapshots, replication). Support network operations: VLANs, trunking, STP, and basic firewall rule interpretation. Monitor and troubleshoot systems using logs, event viewers, and performance analysis. Automate routine tasks and reporting with
PowerShell scripting . Collaborate with the global Admin team (US, Canada, Germany) to deliver reliable infrastructure services.
Nice-to-Haves Exposure to
Cloud technologies
(Azure AD, M365 Hybrid, AWS basics). Experience with backup solutions (Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik). Basic Linux administration. Familiarity with compliance frameworks (PCI DSS, ISO 27001). Experience with migrations or datacenter moves. What We’re Looking For Independent operator:
