Job Description

Job Description

This hands-on 8-month contract role will serve as a key bridge between raw data, business requirements, and executive-ready insights. The ideal candidate will work closely with Finance, IT, and department leaders to structure datasets, model KPIs, and deliver dynamic dashboards that inform decision-making at every level.

In addition, this role will support broader financial automation initiatives, including month-end close optimization, executive financial reporting, risk monitoring of bank transactions, and department-driven forecasting models—all leveraging the full Microsoft ecosystem.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities This job description does not limit management’s ability to assign or adjust duties and responsibilities at any time.

Integrate internal and external data sources using ETL into Microsoft Fabric OneLake. Collaborate with business stakeholders to define KPIs, metrics, and visualization requirements. Develop and maintain robust, scalable Power BI dashboards for finance, leadership, and department use. Deliver a full suite of executive-ready dashboards and forecasting models aligned to Finance and Operational KPIs, built from live Microsoft Fabric datasets. Model and clean data using Power Query, DAX, and dataflows within Power BI and Fabric. Validate and ensure data quality, timeliness, and accuracy across reports. Create workflows using Power Automate to support alerting (e.g., low balance, transaction mismatch, financial risk triggers). Streamline month-end close with Power BI dashboards for journal entry tracking, reconciliation progress, and secure portals for department-led transaction coding and variance explanation. Design and document standardized reporting templates for executive and board-level reporting. Enable dynamic scenario modeling and forecasting in Excel using live-connected Fabric datasets. Provide training and documentation for finance users and department leaders.

Position Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. 3+ years of experience in financial reporting, data analyst, or business analyst role. Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, and custom visuals. Experience with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, and/or Azure Synapse/Data Lake solutions. Familiarity with SQL and integrating SQL Server databases into Fabric or Power BI. Strong knowledge of financial reporting principles, month-end close workflows, and FP&A concepts. Ability to connect and model data from multiple sources including SQL Server, ADP, QuickBooks Online (QBO), and flat files. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Power Pivot and Power Query. Experience creating workflows in Power Automate. Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in stakeholder collaboration. Ability to work independently and manage project timelines across departments.
