Purpose of the Job

Safely and efficiently performs a variety of duties within PBV’s warehouse operations to support both internal and external customers and meet business goals. Duties include pulling, loading, unloading, sorting, staging, stacking, building pallets, wrapping, transporting, counting, quality control checks, dumping, rework, replenishing, and handling of PBV products, raw materials, packaging, and other warehouse goods and materials. The exact nature of duties may vary by facility.

Responsibilities

  • Verifies accuracy and quality of products received from vendors and shipped to customers.
  • Performs all check-in/check-out duties and maintains proper records (BOLs, receivers, pick tickets, and other operational records) according to warehouse SOPs.
  • Counts goods returned to the plant and identifies damaged, full, or empty items.
  • Operates yard equipment and trucks on premises for loading/unloading to bay doors.
  • Interacts with automation systems, voice/paper pick systems, and warehouse management systems to verify and record product, and to build, finish, and verify pallet accuracy and inventory counts.
  • Identifies machine faults, troubleshoots, and performs basic cleaning and maintenance on automation systems.
  • Operates various warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, wrappers) to store, stage, retrieve, replenish, load, or unload products and materials.
  • Performs safety and pre-trip checks on assigned machinery.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area; performs janitorial tasks as needed (trash removal, spill cleanup, debris removal, restacking pallets).
  • Adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety guidelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be able to pass the forklift skills assessment and safely operate PBV material handling equipment.
  • At least six (6) months of forklift experience preferred.
  • Computer/HMI skills; mechanical aptitude.
  • Good math, reading, writing, and communication skills; sorting and grouping skills.
  • Ability to read and understand product labels and load ticket instructions; ability to count large quantities.
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with non-climate-controlled conditions (hot/humid or cold).

Physical and Mental Functions

  • Essential mental and physical functions: repetitive and fast-paced work with required mental/visual alertness.
  • Physical: ability to lift up to 50 pounds; occasional ability to sit, climb, reach, kneel, bend, push, crawl, walk, stand.

Equipment Used

  • Yard switcher, tractors & trailers, dock plates, bay doors, floor scrubber, walkie-rider, forklift (single and double), palletizer, wrapper, HSPA Claw, cardboard baler, automated conveyors, and related equipment.

  • Supervisory responsibilities: None required.
  • Language: Must be able to speak, read, and write proficient English.
