The H&K Group is hiring: Rock Truck Driver in Weatherly

Overview

Hazleton Quarry, a division of the H&K Group, Inc., is seeking a Rock Truck Driver. The driver operates straight or articulated rubber-tired rock trucks equipped with hydraulically powered beds to transport and dump material. A CDL license is not required.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs all work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of equipment and fills out daily inspection sheets
• Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and steers to operate the rock truck
• Drives safely and efficiently to transport material and achieve production goals
• Moves levers to raise and tilt truck bed to dump material
• Performs routine maintenance on rock truck such as lubricating and cleaning
• Follows company policies and procedures
• Cross-trained to assist with maintenance when needed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills, Education, and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or one month of related experience and/or training; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Able and willing to work a 2nd shift schedule
• Problem solving
• Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
• Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience

• 3+ months related experience
• Experience operating heavy equipment
• Experience working in a quarry, heavy civil construction, or outdoor industrial setting
• MSHA or other relevant safety certification

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms
• Frequently required to talk or hear
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
• Specific vision abilities include distance, peripheral, and depth perception

Work Environment

• Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and vibration
• Frequently exposed to fumes and airborne particles and moving parts
• Noise level is usually loud
