Pay Type: Hourly

Hourly wage: $32.50/hour

Location note: Armstrong, British Columbia, CA, V0E 1B7; Spallumcheen area servicing the Okanagan

Responsibilities

• Drive a tandem dump truck, truck and quad or truck and tridem pup to transport and dump loose materials (sand, gravel, crushed rock, asphalt paving materials).
• Haul and deliver materials to/from specified vendors and job sites, including loading and unloading in designated areas.
• Perform walk-around pre-trip safety inspections and report safety concerns or near misses to Supervisors.
• Maintain effective communications with supervisors and customers; promote safety and compliance with company standards.
• Understand general knowledge of cell phone and computer use as required.
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and repetitive movements; comply with safety protocols and PPE requirements.
• Complete daily checklists, journals and reports; coordinate with plant operators, truckers, quality control and dispatch.
• Demonstrate a commitment to health, safety and environmental policies and foster a safety-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Field of Study: Class 1 Driver’s License and Air Brakes
• Experience: Minimum 3 years gravel truck experience with tandem axle trucks and quad trailers
• Travel: Minimal travel required
• Training/Certifications: Clean driving abstract; three references
• Other: Preference for candidates with experience hauling construction materials; heavy machinery/equipment experience
