Our Interstate Logos office in Norcross, GA is looking for a new Construction Worker to help us enhance the Interstate Logos Program. We provide on-the-job training. We’re looking for a full-time Construction Worker to install and maintain our interstate logos signs - the ones that tell you when to exit for Gas, Food, Lodging, etc.

The purpose of the Construction Worker is to install and maintain ground-mounted signs along controlled and non-controlled access roadways. This is completed by receiving a schedule of jobs from the General Manager and driving to each location in a company-provided truck.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain ground-mounted signs along controlled and non-controlled access roadways, following a schedule from the General Manager.
  • Travel to job sites in a company-provided truck.
  • Work with other Construction Workers on the installation and maintenance of ground-mounted signs at various heights, including installation and removal as needed.
  • Perform vegetation control related to ground-mounted signs (removal of trees, brush, weeds, etc.).
  • Organize and clean warehouse space and the supply yard area.

What we are looking for in YOU

  • Familiar with the use and maintenance of construction power/manual tools, and basic construction equipment and machinery
  • Skill in using and maintaining construction power/manual tools and basic construction equipment, including chainsaw and wood chipper, and how to use them to install, maintain, or remove interstate signs
  • Ability to lift at least 100 pounds to install, maintain, or remove interstate signs
  • Skill in writing brief sentences to complete reports on completed jobs
  • Skill in taking photographs to catalog completed jobs
  • Ability to work at heights of 20-30 feet

Education and experience

  • High School Education or equivalent
  • Driver’s license is required
  • Commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred (not required)

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • The primary work environment is outdoors.
  • Physical demands include heavy lifting, pushing, reaching, reading (color distinction, acuity, depth perception, peripheral vision), sitting less than 50% of the time, standing, stooping, talking, turning, walking, and climbing.
  • Nights spent away from home traveling are over 50% of the time.
