What you'll do :

As an Accountant, you’ll have the opportunity to work closely with a Financial Reporting Manager and other accounting staff to complete projects that support the bank and the holding company to assist in implementation of accounting standards and SEC and regulatory financial reporting.

This position provides accounting support to the bank and the holding company by performing accounting duties including operational accounting, journal entries, account / bank reconciliations, accruals, amortizations, transaction analysis, Treasury & investment accounting, inter-company accounting, accounting research and ad hoc projects as assigned. This position will also work closely with external and internal auditors and examiners to assist in fielding questions and providing supporting documentation in a professional and timely manner. This position also ensures compliance with SOX, all policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.

  • Work closely with the Managers to complete the month-end, quarter-end, and annual close processes.
  • Provide support to all assigned areas in the Accounting Department where service or assistance is needed.
  • Reconcile investment securities activity and prepare daily complex journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Learn various tasks throughout the Accounting team to facilitate adequate coverage of tasks.
  • Assist in accounting transactions that require research and analysis.
  • Interface with management, external auditors, and regulatory agencies concerning accounting and SOX requirements.

What you'll need :

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of prior investment securities experience, with complex journal entries and reconciliations is highly preferred.
  • A thorough understanding of GAAP is required.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills.
  • Effectively interact with all levels within the Company and subsidiaries.
  • Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Advanced Excel skills
