Accountant - Independence Physician Management (IPM)

Position type: Full-time (hybrid role: 3 days in the office, 2 from home).

Position Overview

The Accountant coordinates and prepares accounting transactions and activities within assigned Corporate Accounting functions such as general ledger, intercompany transactions, accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), budgets, financial reporting, or other assigned accounting functions in accordance with sound accounting standards, practices, principles, and company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and prepare usual and customary accounting transactions and activities across assigned corporate accounting functions (e.g., General Ledger, intercompany, AP, AR, budgets, financial reporting).
  • Prepare and post journal entries; generate and consolidate periodic reports from AP/AR closings.
  • Post expenses and generate statements and worksheets; maintain accurate records.
  • Maintain working knowledge of general accounting concepts, practices, standards, and principles related to one or more corporate accounting functions (General Ledger, Budgeting, Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, etc.).
  • Gather relevant information, calculate expenses, and identify opportunities to optimize costs.
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational abilities.
  • Provide service-oriented, customer-centric support within the accounting team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Experience: One to three years in general corporate accounting in functions such as General Ledger, Budget, Financial Reporting, AP, etc.; three to five years of experience preferred.
  • Ability to generate, receive, or consolidate periodic reports from AP/AR closings and journal entries.
  • Proficient in posting expenses and generating statements and worksheets.
  • Working knowledge of accounting concepts, practices, standards, and principles in one or more corporate accounting functions (General Ledger, Budgeting, Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills to gather information, calculate, anticipate, and help control expenses.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational abilities.
  • Service-oriented, customer-centric mindset.
