About the Role

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance team, with a core focus on Bookkeeping and Accounts Payable. This role is vital in maintaining accurate financial records, managing payables, and ensuring the integrity of financial data across systems and processes.

As an integral member of our finance department, you will be responsible for data entry, reconciliation, reporting, and supporting monthly and year-end closing activities. You’ll work closely with other departments and team members to ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Daily accounting & bookkeeping matters (QuickBooks Pro)
  • Monthly account reconciliations (Operating and 50+ IOTA Accounts)
  • Budgeting & forecasting
  • Responsible for domestic/ international wire transfers via online banking platforms/cash management (approx. 2,000 p. a.)
  • Prepare financial statements for reconciliation with external accountants
  • Prepare annual client reports with incoming/outgoing transaction info
  • Preparing internal management reports
  • Maintain banking and vendor relationships (including insurance)
  • Process AR, AP, deposits, applicable tax payments, weekly, monthly, quarterly reports: month/year-end close-out process
  • Handle cash management (many domestic/ international wires) and remote capture of checks received for various opening and over 50 trust accounts
  • Post account movements daily and reconcile all operating and IOLTA trust accounts monthly
  • Review incoming and outgoing payments for accuracy
  • Maintain separate trust account spreadsheet and overview with specific case and client allocation of incoming funds
  • Forecast & budget quarterly and annually, by assessing cash needs in almost exclusive contingent fee environment
  • Use QuickBooks Enterprise and QuickBooks online or NetSuite for all accounting functions, and track profitability of separate divisions in sub-classes as well as for separate US entities

Requirements

  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills in English and another language
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; QuickBooks is required
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Education and Experience

  • Detail oriented
  • Previous experience as a Bookkeeping / AP Specialist
  • Previous experience in a bank highly desirable
