Overview
Join to apply for the Electrician role at Mittera. We are looking for an Electrician to join the Mittera family. Electricians are responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, modifying, testing, and maintaining electrical/electronic circuits, systems, components and controls of building and manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, service, troubleshoot, install, and repair electrical components and electronic circuitry and related components associated with production equipment used in a 24/7 industrial operation.
- Have verifiable experience and knowledge in electronic diagnostics of PLCs, AC/DC drive systems, and various computer operated control circuitry, including voltages up to 480VAC.
- Utilize electrical ladder diagrams, electronic circuitry diagrams, and software programs to modify, repair, or improve equipment functionality.
- Use a variety of tools such as hand tools, power tools, electrical/electronic test equipment, and calibration equipment.
- Diagnose and repair a wide variety of electrically driven equipment.
- Collaborate with managers, other technicians, and peers to maintain electronic/electrical systems on existing and new/specialized equipment.
- Perform hands-on electrical/mechanical maintenance of production equipment.
- Troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair equipment in real-time production environments with a sense of urgency and ownership.
- Repair or reproduce parts as required using welders or machine tools (lathes, milling machines, drill presses, surface grinders, or other machine shop equipment).
- Perform general plant maintenance inside and outside the facility as required.
- Assist contractors with specific projects.
- Log and maintain inventory records of machine parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.
- Log and maintain preventative and predictive maintenance records and maintenance requests.
- Follow all company policies regarding SOPs and safety requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- A state electrical license, technical certificate, and/or a minimum of 3–5 years of related, verifiable experience and/or training, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Demonstrated leadership, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to anticipate problems and implement preventative measures.
- Ability to develop and convey new techniques for work processes.
- Ability to redirect to issues as they emerge and reprioritize based on current business conditions.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Organized with the ability to plan, prioritize, and follow through on projects with minimal supervision.
- Ability to comply with the organization’s policies and procedures and OSHA regulations.
- 3+ years of verifiable work experience.
- Basic computer skills for communication, research, and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of PLC logic, programming, and DC control systems.
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical, electrical, and preventative maintenance systems.
- Knowledge of electrical systems (low voltage DC, single-phase, three-phase, etc.).
Physical Requirements
- Requires proper body mechanics with pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling, and bending.
- Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Fine motor skills, manual dexterity, and coordination.
- Near visual acuity.
- Ability to work around and operate department equipment and access all facility areas.
- Ability to function professionally under stress.
Work Environment
Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles and hazardous materials. Production work near moving mechanical parts.
