Responsibilities
- Assist the Corporate Human Resource Director with complex and specialized administrative tasks including hiring, onboarding, orientation, offboarding, records management, reporting, and employment relations support. Report to the Corporate HR Director.
- Maintain employee records, manage job postings, and assist with changes in staffing, benefit administration, and compliance-related tasks (I-9, EEO-1, payroll audits, etc.).
- Coordinate and support open enrollment, new hire orientation, benefits communications, and compliance training.
- Assist with recruitment processes: posting positions, reviewing applications, conducting or scheduling preliminary interviews, and screening candidates; manage background checks, DMV verifications, drug screens, and other verifications.
- Manage new hire onboarding and ongoing training records; participate in safety committees and ensure training is current.
- Administer and audit payroll and benefits data; assist in resolving payroll discrepancies and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Provide HR support to employees: respond to inquiries, escalate matters to management as needed, and maintain effective employee relations.
- Assist with leave of absence processes (ADA, FMLA, CFRA) and manage terminations and offboarding processes, including documentation and system access removal.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through ongoing training and professional involvement.
- Support HR-related projects and reports, including WC claims and incident reporting.
- Other duties as assigned to support HR operations and compliance.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of office experience; 1 year in human resources strongly preferred.
- CP-SHRM or PHR certification preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software; ability to work legally in the USA.
- Ability to pass pre-employment testing including background checks, MVR, and drug testing; valid driver\u2019s license; eligible for shop insurance coverage (not an excluded driver).

Essential Duties (not exhaustive)
- Maintain and audit employee records, job classifications, pay rates, and organizational structure.
- Manage active job openings and applications; oversee internal and external postings.
- Handle store staffing changes, including layoffs, resignations, terminations, and leaves of absence.
- Administer benefits and communicate changes to carriers; assist with enrollment and notices.
- Plan and support open enrollment and new hire orientation; coordinate benefits discussions.
- Conduct or assist with compliance audits and reports (I-9, EEO-1, payroll audits).
- Monitor vacation accrual and payroll liabilities; assist Payroll with discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local laws; enforce HR policies and dealership procedures.
- Assist Hiring Managers with posting positions, reviewing applications, and scheduling interviews.
- Manage candidate screening, background checks, DMV verification, drug screens, and other verifications.
- Coordinate new hire orientations and onboarding; maintain training records and compliance training updates.
- Collaborate with department managers on scheduling and training completions; participate in ongoing training program updates.
- Perform routine HR administration (copying, scanning, filing, emailing).
- Provide timely HR support to employees; escalate to management as needed.
- Coordinate annual open enrollment with vendors; manage benefits dashboard for new hires and terminations.
- Maintain and audit personnel files; participate in Safety Committee activities.
- Assist with employee relations, investigations, and related documentation.
- Prepare general HR activity reports and support various HR projects.
- Complete workers\u2019 compensation claims and incident reporting.
- Support leave administration and documentation (ADA, FMLA, CFRA).
- Assist with terminations and offboarding processes, including documentation and system changes.
- Maintain professional knowledge and engage in continuous learning.
