ALL ABOUT FOOD & BEVERAGE The Food & Beverage team ensures product is fresh, in stock, available and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. They are experts of operations, process and efficiency, leading food and food services including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all Food and Beverage areas of the store.

• Provide a consistent Starbucks experience for guests by curating handcrafted Starbucks’ food quality and freshness management
• State and federal food safety and OSHA guidelines

As a Starbucks Barista, a typical day will include the following responsibilities:

• Deliver an exceptional guest experience by providing a fresh and abundant shopping experience during all hours of operations, prioritizing the guest’s needs over task.
• Uphold and maintain the execution of the Food & Beverage Standards.
• Execute food and beverage processes including deliveries, replenishment, in-stocks routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing, and organizing, and storing reserve product.
• Be aware of current & future promotions within Starbucks.
• Follow all Target and Starbucks routines to deliver a consistent experience for guests while completing tasks efficiently and maintaining food safety.
• Support the Starbucks Drive Up process to ensure digital guest orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
• Maintain an inviting dining area for guests during shift.
• Engage with guests to meet and exceed their expectations based on Starbucks standards.
• Produce handcrafted beverages and food to specifications on recipe cards.
• Follow all food safety requirements, including monitoring and recording temperature sensitive items.
• Complete and record all cleaning tasks in the Starbucks space as outlined in best practices.
• Identify damaged, recalled or expired items and process according to best practice.
• Ensure accurate in-stocks by placing store-initiated orders according to best practices.
• Follow proper perishable inventory procedures to ensure accurate recording of inventory.
• Execute sampling best practices.
• Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the total store, to solve issues for guests and improve their experience.
• Complete required training and certifications related to quality control of Starbucks products.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
• Work in a safe manner; comply with safety policies, best practices, and training; report hazards and correct where possible.
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pickup (OPU) and Drive-up (DU) with compliance to applicable laws.
• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks.
• Engage with guests to help solve their needs and thank them for shopping with Target.
• All other duties based on business needs.

The Good News Is That We Have Training To Help You Learn Everything You Need To Know To Be a Starbucks Barista. Some basic skills to have from the start:

• Previous Starbucks/food service experience preferred, but not required
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
• Ability to communicate using multiple devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology as directed
• Work both independently and with a team
• Resolve guest questions quickly
• Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes
• Ability to stay focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within timeframes

• Climb up and down ladders
• Scan, handle and move merchandise safely and efficiently, including lifting up to 44 pounds
• Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) and reliable, prompt attendance
• Ability to work in environments ranging from 34°F to -10°F as needed
• Ability to work where common allergens may be present
• Capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing duties
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift
