Overview
Job Title: Business Analyst
The Revenue Cycle Training, QI and Projects Department at the Wexner Medical Center functions as an integral member of the health care finance team to support organizational goals with a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The department implements strategies to support goals through education, feedback, root cause analysis, hands-on resolution, and project management. The department also manages the organization\'s real-time eligibility vendor to support clean claims and provide system enhancements and IT prioritization for hospital and physician billing.
Responsibilities
- Under general supervision, resolve, monitor, collect, and report errors that prevent a clean claim from being sent to a payer.
- Perform root cause analysis, identify optimization opportunities, and work with end-users to prevent errors.
- Provide in-class training for new staff and become certified under the direction of a principal trainer.
Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor degree in healthcare, education, or applicable field required; 1-2 years of technical experience with Excel, Access databases, and PowerPoint; 1-4 years of experience in revenue cycle departments (e.g., scheduling, registration, hospital or physician billing).
- Ability to learn and utilize new application software and systems; strong knowledge of the health insurance industry; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate with large groups; independence, self-initiative, thoroughness, attention to detail; ability to learn new processes quickly and efficiently; strong computer skills.
- Experience in educating or training others through classroom or other media is desirable.
