Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair a variety of equipment including diesel engines, heavy trucks, workover rigs, pumping equipment, lifting equipment, and other oilfield-related equipment.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, failure analysis, diagnostics, repairs, inspections, assembling and rebuilding of components or equipment (e.g., engines, power trains, hydraulics, fuel systems, power generation, electrical codes).
  • Execute required maintenance procedures and inspections as required by Axis and customers.
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Read and follow repair manuals and perform repairs listed in manuals; read and interpret basic measuring equipment.
  • Operate and maintain power equipment and lifting devices; perform testing of equipment for proper operation.
  • Order parts as necessary with prior approval; troubleshoot breakdowns on various oilfield well service equipment.
  • Be prepared for on-call troubleshooting at shop or wellsite; complete proper paperwork as assigned.
  • Disassemble and reassemble non-working equipment to like-new condition with safety and operational checks before field distribution.
  • Collaborate with shop and field crews, and assist other maintenance employees.
  • Work may be performed in the shop or at the wellsite depending on assignment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent; trade or technical school certification in maintenance or Diesel repair strongly preferred.
  • Five or more years of proven experience on oilfield equipment with diesel engines and hydraulics.
  • Valid state-issued driver license; Class A or B license is a plus.
  • Strong hydraulic knowledge; experience with complex hydraulic systems and open vs closed loop systems.
  • Knowledge of laptop-based troubleshooting software (e.g., CAT Electronic Technician, CUMMINS INSIGHT, ALLISON TECH TOOL, MACK TECH TOOL, DETROIT DDEC, MTU).
  • Experience with specific equipment and configurations listed (e.g., CAT C-15/C-32, Detroit 14L, MTU 16V2000, Allison 750/6000/4750 OFS, 224 twin disk clutches, etc.).
  • Ability to work safely in a team environment; able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs; comfortable using ladders and working at heights; mobility to crawl, bend, stoop, and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to perform duties with protective equipment and operate in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks.
  • Reliable communication and transportation; willing to clear pre-employment drug/alcohol screens.
