Overview
Local Raleigh Paving and Grading Contractor is looking for a self-motivated field mechanic that specializes in diesel and construction equipment repairs and maintenance. Position includes a full-size F650 service truck to work out of. The truck has a 10,000 lb crane, compressor, generator, welder, and full-size toolboxes. No CDL required for the truck. Must have your own tools, but we have larger shop tools. We are looking for someone with at least 5 years of experience. Paving and grading/excavation equipment experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
Looking for an equipment mechanic but the role will require light preventive maintenance and repairs on dump trucks and fleet service trucks, e.g.: brakes, oil changes, suspension, minor engine repairs. The position includes diagnosing and servicing equipment to meet schedule requirements and may require running between jobs for breakdowns and performing services and replacing wear and tear items. Must be organized and able to document repairs and maintenance. Must be able to keep up with maintenance schedules. Must have good diagnostic skills. Must be a team player and work with the operations team to prioritize equipment repairs to meet schedule requirements.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Paving and grading/excavation equipment experience is a plus
