Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for IT-related questions, helping staff resolve hardware, software, and connectivity challenges.
• Maintain and optimize desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices to ensure seamless daily operations.
• Support critical business applications, ensuring they are configured correctly, updated, and fully functional.
• Monitor system performance, apply updates, and assist with backups to maintain network reliability and security.
• Administer user accounts, permissions, and passwords to maintain secure access to systems and sensitive data.
• Provide hands-on guidance and training to staff on software, tools, and technology best practices.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal IT teams to deploy new hardware and software, and coordinate troubleshooting or repairs.
• Document IT procedures, maintain knowledge resources, and recommend improvements to workflows and processes.
• Support compliance and data protection standards by ensuring systems and user activities align with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 2 years in IT support or technical operations, ideally within insurance or financial services.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and networking systems.
• Experience with agency management platforms (e.g., EPIC) is preferred.
• Familiarity with SQL, scripting (VBA), or automation tools is a plus.
• Solid communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
• Highly organized, able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Salary Range of the IT Support Specialist: $20 - 25 an hour depending on experience
