Role Overview We are seeking an experienced
Business Cutover Lead
to guide and manage the transition activities for a large-scale Oracle Fusion ERP implementation. This role will be responsible for orchestrating the cutover process across multiple business functions, with a strong emphasis on ensuring accounting and finance operations experience minimal disruption during the transition. The Business Cutover Lead will collaborate with program leadership, PMO, functional business leads, and the system integration partner to design, coordinate, and oversee all activities necessary to ensure a smooth transition from legacy systems to Oracle Fusion. Key Responsibilities Cutover Strategy & Planning Lead workshops with business stakeholders to build a comprehensive inventory of operational tasks, dependencies, ownership, and timing. Create a detailed business cutover plan that aligns with the overall program schedule and technical transition activities. Ensure critical finance and accounting processes are fully prepared for cutover, including: Closing and reconciling legacy ledgers Confirming subledger postings and trial balances Validating migration of balances, accruals, and journals into Oracle Fusion Managing blackout periods for financial transactions Assessing boundary system impacts to the general ledger Preparing service providers for onboarding and operational readiness Supporting adoption of Oracle Projects for
capital/operational
planning, fixed asset management, and
depreciation/amortization
allocation Testing and validating opening balances in Oracle GL Align accounting leadership on roles, responsibilities, checkpoints, and timelines. Identify risks, propose mitigation strategies, and escalate issues as needed. Coordinate communication and training needs to ensure all impacted teams are informed and prepared. Business Readiness & Transition Execution Partner with business leads to validate readiness criteria for go-live. Ensure all business activities tied to system transition (transaction processing, reconciliation, approvals, and data validation) are clearly assigned and tracked. Work closely with change management and training teams to confirm user preparedness for new processes. Act as the primary contact for business leads during cutover execution, while serving as liaison to the system integrator. Communicate interdependencies between functional activities and highlight downstream impacts. Monitor, report, and escalate risks, blockers, and issues to program leadership. Track and provide status updates on business readiness and cutover execution. Ideal Candidate Profile Proven experience leading cutover or transition activities for large-scale ERP implementations, preferably Oracle Fusion. Strong background in finance and accounting operations, with a deep understanding of ledger close, reconciliations, and reporting. Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to anticipate risks, develop mitigation strategies, and coordinate across multiple workstreams. Skilled at translating technical transition plans into actionable business activities.
