Position Summary/Objective As a key member of the Maintenance team, the Maintenance Machine Technician III will be responsible for ensuring all machines are in proper working condition to minimize downtime and to meet plant and department requirements. This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting, to ensure production goals are met. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager but will also take direction from Plant Managers.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities : Follow all safety rules, including use of Personal Protective Equipment and LOTO. Performs routine maintenance and repairs of all machinery as required. Diagnose and determine root causes of equipment related problems, make corrections, repair or replace parts as necessary. Discuss findings or results with department personnel and managers. Make recommendations concerning changes to equipment, improvements or installations. Performs maintenance tasks as per preventative maintenance schedule. Perform predictive maintenance monitoring to predict and schedule repairs before failure. Maintain tools and ensure special equipment is in good working order. Advise manager of any areas of concern for machine performance. Notify Manager of any deviation from process, operational quality, maintenance and safety standards. Document maintenance SOP’s and create training materials for the maintenance team. Conducts tests and inspections of equipment or processes to evaluate quality or performance. Train machine operators and maintenance personnel on proper care and cleaning of the equipment. Train maintenance personnel on new equipment and new techniques in maintaining and diagnosing equipment. Assist in installation of new equipment and relocation of existing equipment. Assist with the organization and replenishment of spare parts. Secondary Functions & Responsibilities : Participate as a key member of Brickle Group and actively contribute to our culture of continuous improvement. Distributes work assignments as directed by manager. Travel locally to all Brickle locations as needed. Other responsibilities as directed by manager. Requirements:
Competencies, Skills and Abilities Ability to perform routine maintenance on equipment, determine type necessary, and repair machines using tools needed. Ability to use power drills, and saws, pullers, and hand tools. Electrical knowledge a plus Ability to determine kinds of equipment and tools required to do the job. Knowledge of welding and machining. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and experience Knowledge of the English language, and ability to articulate technical issues and concerns. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with all levels within the organization, as an individual contributor and team player Ability to work independently and make decisions. Flexibility to work on call schedule, including varying shifts. Forklift certification a plus. Experience with Lean Manufacturing a plus Education & Experience 3-5 years of related experience required. Vocational training or associate’s degree in a technical trade preferred. Textile industry experiences a plus. Knowledge of carding, needling, finishing, blending, flat and rotary press preferred.
