The
Security Officer
is a key member of the Palm House team, responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all guests, employees, and visitors. This position requires a proactive individual with strong observational skills and a calm, professional demeanor. The Security Officer will patrol the property, monitor surveillance systems, enforce safety policies, and respond to emergencies or incidents as needed. A strong focus on guest service and confidentiality is essential in this role. Requirements: Key Responsibilities: Monitor security systems, and alarms to detect unusual activity. Conduct regular foot patrols throughout the hotel premises, including public areas, guest floors, parking areas, back-of-house, and perimeter. Respond promptly to all emergencies, including medical, fire, and security-related incidents, following hotel protocols. Maintain detailed incident and activity reports, documenting observations, actions taken, and outcomes. Enforce hotel policies and procedures to ensure safety, prevent loss, and maintain order. Assist with crowd control during events, guest disturbances, or emergency evacuations. Escort staff or guests as needed for safety or policy reasons. Support guest service efforts by providing courteous and professional assistance when approached. Collaborate with hotel management and law enforcement as needed in the event of investigations or serious incidents. Conduct safety checks of doors, locks, fire exits, and safety equipment during rounds. Respond to guest complaints or reports of suspicious behavior discreetly and effectively. Participate in regular training sessions, safety drills, and emergency response simulations. Qualifications: Minimum
1 year of experience
in a security or safety-related role; experience in a hospitality environment is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; bilingual a plus. Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations. Professional appearance and demeanor. Familiarity with basic security technology and reporting tools. Basic CPR/First Aid certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain upon hire). Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time (up to 8–10 hours per shift). Ability to climb stairs and conduct patrols in various areas, including outdoors. Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds in emergency situations. Must be able to work flexible shifts, including
nights, weekends, and holidays , and in various weather conditions.
