About Us: ZABS Place is more than just an upscale thrift boutique; we’re a family. Located in the heart of downtown Matthews, we’re an employment training center for young adults with intellectual and developmental differences. Our mission is to reveal hidden potential—both in the incredible individuals we work with and the quality resale merchandise we offer. From clothing and furniture to books and home décor, our store is filled with treasures—and not just on the shelves. At ZABS Place, we don’t just provide jobs; we create stepping stones to meaningful futures.
Position Summary: As a Job Coach at ZABS Place, you’ll play a critical role in empowering young talent to develop their skills, gain confidence, and prepare for future employment opportunities. You’ll work directly with our team members, providing guidance, support, and encouragement as they navigate their roles in our boutique.
What You’ll Do: Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: - Coaching young adults as they develop interest-based workplace skills. - Providing hands-on support in various areas of the store, such as merchandising, customer service, and inventory management. - Encouraging team members to build confidence and independence in their roles. - Collaborating with the ZABS Place team to create a positive and inclusive environment for both employees and customers. - Assisting in identifying and nurturing the unique talents of each individual to help them achieve their personal and professional goals.
What We’re Looking For: To be successful in this role, you’ll need: -
1 year of experience
in a related field, such as teaching, coaching, mentoring, leading skill-building, or working with individuals with intellectual and developmental differences. - A genuine passion for working with and supporting the individuals we serve. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with team members, customers, and colleagues. - Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude. - Creativity and the ability to adapt and problem-solve in a dynamic retail environment.
