A bachelor’s degree in accounting is required for this role. Candidates must demonstrate a solid understanding of accounting principles, procedures, and practices, along with advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and Financial Information Systems. Experience with Oracle Fusion, project accounting, and the FERC Uniform System of Accounts is preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders. Attention to detail, accuracy, and effective time management are critical. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, capable of working independently, and able to collaborate effectively to meet accounting deadlines.
Preferred qualifications include prior experience in regulated utility industry operations and CPA certification. A strong grasp of US GAAP and familiarity with SEC reporting requirements are highly valued, along with knowledge of FERC accounting and reporting standards. Technical skills in SQL and/or Power BI are a plus, as is a passion for innovation, automation, and leveraging technology to enhance financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure accurate and timely reporting of monthly and quarterly financial results
Collaborate with team members to prepare clear and concise variance analyses under both US GAAP and FERC reporting standards
Support SEC filings, including drafting footnote disclosures and providing review and supporting documentation
Assist with internal and external audits, as well as SOX compliance reviews
Conduct accounting research on US GAAP and FERC topics and support the implementation of new accounting standards
Resolve complex accounting issues related to strategic business initiatives and proactively identify potential accounting risks

The expected base compensation for this role is $62,000 - $78,000 annually. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
