Salary range: The salary range for this position is $140,600-$369,400. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. See Professorial Series (Adjunct, Clinical X, HS Clinical, In Residence, Ladder Rank) and Professor of Teaching Series - Health Sciences Compensation Plan. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Position description

The

Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of California, Irvine, is seeking candidates for a full-time faculty position as an Assistant, Associate Professor, or Full Professor in Ophthalmology - Retina with primary clinical activities at Gavin Herbert Eye Institute - Irvine and Orange, with the possibility of also providing care to ophthalmology patients at Brea satellite clinic, and future satellite clinics.

Duties will include clinical care of patients and sharing in the responsibility for didactic and clinical training of fellows, residents, and medical students.

The appointment series, dependent upon the qualifications of the candidate, may be a member of the Academic Senate in the Professor of Clinical X Series, Professor-in-Residence Series or in a Non-Senate position in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications

(required at time of application) * Candidates must have an MD, DO, or MD/DO-PhD.

* Candidates must also possess a background in research or scholarly activity with an interest in clinical or basic science research in retina.

* Candidates must have demonstrated skills in the areas of medical retina and vitreoretinal surgery.
