About This Role:

The Department of Clinical Sciences and the Veterinary Health Center, College of Veterinary Medicine at Kansas State University invites applications for a tenure- or clinical-track,

Assistant / Associate / Full Professor

position in

small animal general/orthopedic surgery .

Applicants will be considered for employment at the rank of assistant, associate, or full professor based on academic experience. Time will be allotted for ACVS/ECVS Board preparation for non-boarded applicants.

The position will be part of an experienced team including surgical staffing of 5 ACVS-boarded surgeons, 4 surgical residents in addition to dedicated technical staff.

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in clinical service, veterinary and graduate student instruction, residency training, and to support the scholarly and academic missions of the department and VHC appropriate to their appointment.

We remain flexible with regard to details; the responsibilities of the position will be tailored to the applicant's interests and goals.

The percentage of time spent supporting either service will be based on the applicants' preferences and the needs of the service.

The starting date is negotiable.

Professorial rank is based on academic experience and accomplishments commensurate with departmental guidelines for each academic rank.

Salary will be commensurate with the applicant's experience and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

DVM or equivalent degree

Completed residency training in small animal surgery by the time of employment

The degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program at this level.
