Microsoft is seeking skilled and motivated Data Center Technicians across all experience levels to support operations at our cutting-edge facility in Mount Pleasant, WI. As part of our global cloud infrastructure team, you'll play a critical role in maintaining the physical and virtual backbone of Microsoft Azure and enterprise services.

Key Responsibilities Depending on your level (L1-L4), responsibilities may include:
Hardware Installation & Maintenance
* Rack, stack, and cable servers, network devices, and storage systems.
* Install and replace components such as CPUs, DIMMs, SSDs, NICs, and power supplies.
* Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on hardware failures and performance issues.
System Monitoring & Operations
* Monitor data center health using tools like DCIM, telemetry dashboards, and alerting systems.
* Respond to incidents and service requests, escalating as needed.
* Maintain accurate inventory and asset tracking using internal systems.
Security & Compliance
* Follow strict physical security protocols and access controls.
* Support audits and ensure compliance with Microsoft and industry standards (e.g., ISO, SOC, FedRAMP).
Advanced Technical Work (L3-L4)
* Lead root cause analysis for recurring hardware or infrastructure issues.
* Collaborate with engineering teams to implement new technologies and optimize performance.
* Mentor junior technicians and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Hardware & Systems You May Work With
* Microsoft Azure servers and custom-built cloud infrastructure
* Dell, HPE, and Cisco hardware
* Network switches, routers, and firewalls
* Storage arrays and backup systems
* Virtualization platforms (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware)
* Monitoring tools (e.g., DCIM, ServiceNow, SCOM)
Qualifications
L1 - Entry-Level * Basic understanding of computer hardware and networking * Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment * Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures L2-L3 - Mid-Level * 2-5 years of experience in data center or IT operations * Familiarity with server hardware, cabling standards, and troubleshooting * Experience with ticketing systems and incident response L4 - Senior-Level * 5+ years of experience in enterprise data center environments * Proven leadership in technical operations and project execution * Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills * sic understanding of computer hardware and networking * Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment * Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures L2-L3 - Mid-Level * 2-5 years of experience in data center or IT operations * Familiarity with server hardware, cabling standards, and troubleshooting * Experience with ticketing systems and incident response L4 - Senior-Level * 5+ years of experience in enterprise data center environments * Proven leadership in technical operations and project execution * Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $50.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
