Position description
The Qavi Laboratory at UCI is seeking applications for Postdoctoral Scholars are being sought from doctoral (PhD, MD, or foreign equivalent) candidates with strong laboratory research backgrounds & specialized training. Applicant can either currently possess required degree at the time of application or be working towards acquiring the required degree.
The Qavi Lab is interested in developing the next generation of diagnostics for a variety of pathogens and diseases. Relevant skills include experience with lasers, LEDS, optical system hardware, clean room fabrication, electronic circuit design, optical engineering, signal processing, and data analysis. The successful candidate will have a strong background in optics and device fabrication. Will give preference (not a requirement) to those who have demonstrated high productivity during their doctoral studies with first author publications in well-respected journals. Experience with lasers, LEDS, optical system hardware, clean room fabrication, electronic circuit design, optical engineering, signal processing, and data analysis will be given preference. The successful candidate (preferred at time of application) will also demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills, strong collaborative and interpersonal skills, strong analytical and organizational skills, ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team, and commitment to mentoring others as well as being mentored.
