Summary: The Medical Receptionist is responsible for greeting the patients and establishing a friendly and positive in-take and check out encounter for each patient’s visit requiring excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt to changes in both staffing levels and patient volumes. The receptionist is responsible for maintaining patient flow, answering phones promptly and courteously, scheduling, registering, billing and payment collection activities for clinic patients while following all applicable policies and procedures. They will successfully learn and understand diversified insurance plans and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting patients and establishing a friendly and positive in-take and check out encounter for each patient’s visit.
  • Maintain patient flow, answer phones promptly and courteously, and manage scheduling, registering, billing and payment collection activities for clinic patients following all applicable policies and procedures.
  • Learn and understand diversified insurance plans and medical terminology.

Education & Experience

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • Organized, able to multitask and work in fast-paced medical office.
  • Previous Front Desk Medical experience (preferred).
  • Pediatric Experience (preferred).

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Exhibit good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Maturity to withstand pressure that may arise in working in a busy medical clinic and dealing with the public.
