Milwaukee School of Engineering is seeking a motivated Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities team, overseeing the maintenance of 16 buildings spread across 22 acres in the heart of downtown Milwaukee. Our campus is a unique blend of modern, aging, and historic buildings-including office buildings, academic buildings, residence halls, apartments, athletic fields, and parking lots.
As a Maintenance Technician, you'll play a key role in ensuring our campus remains a safe and comfortable environment for students, staff, and faculty. You'll monitor, operate, maintain, and repair a variety of building systems, including HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.

Downtown Milwaukee, WI
Pay
Hourly pay starts at $27/hour based on experience
Schedule
Monday through Friday 8am to 4:30pm
Ability to work overtime and be on an on-call rotation

Summary of Duties
Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair systems and equipment to keep our buildings running efficiently.
Perform regular preventative maintenance to avoid breakdowns and ensure consistent performance.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and ensure minimal disruption to daily campus operations.
Collaborate with the facilities team to support work orders and projects in a variety of areas including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, snow removal, grounds and more.
Keep working area safe, wear and/or use appropriate safety equipment and tools, and abide by established safety policies and procedures.
Physical Demands
Must be able to use a ladder, areal lift platform and all maintenance related
equipment and tools. Must be able to lift items up to 50 pounds. Bending at the waist, sitting, kneeling, laying horizontally, climbing, frequent walking, etc. as job may require. Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Work Enviornment
The work environment includes all campus buildings and grounds (including inside and outside work), may include emergency needs at any time of the day or night. Noise level which may at times require normal hearing protection in the form of ear plugs. Extreme heat or cold. Working at various heights.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED
Experience preferred in one or more of the following core competencies:
HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry.
