Minimum Qualifications Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications Registered Architect in the state of Georgia, and 5 years or more experience

Position Summary This is an Architectural design position which shall report directly to the Director of Engineering. This position shall execute architectural designs and/or oversee architectural designs (performed by contracted design firms) for renovations of campus facilities. This individual will oversee contracted design firms, reviewing proposals, and reviewing pay applications. In addition to design, this individual shall participate in scope development meeting with campus customers, perform construction administration, and project closeout of renovation projects. This position will not supervise full-time staff, but will oversee student interns. This position will provide leadership within the Engineering Group, recognizing and implementing process improvements, and attend high level meetings when needed. Typical project types include research laboratory renovations, office renovations, auditorium renovations, classroom renovations, and energy plant renovations.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies Requires a Bachelors of Architecture degree and the ability to achieve registration within two years. Applicant must be familiar with the current building codes, and capable of working in Autocadd and Revit (or willing to learn Revit). Must be a good communicator, and capable of managing multiple projects at once.

Physical Demands Drive as needed to perform duties, conduct site inspections, climb ladders, sit at desk for long periods of time, lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

Duties/Responsibilities Design: Creation of detailed architectural drawings and specifications utilizing Revit, Autocad, and Word

Duties/Responsibilities Manage design professionals working on behalf of FMD. Help them scope their projects, review their proposals, review their deliverables, and review their invoices.
