Mountain View, California Direct Hire Salary Range : $225,000 - $325,000 Benefits : Equityfully paid Healthcareno 401K yetunlimited PTO Head of Engineering, Integrations The Opportunity We’re looking for a senior engineering leader to drive the future of healthcare data connectivity. In this role, you will take ownership of the full strategy and execution for integrating our AI-driven healthcare solutions with major EHR systems, third-party APIs, and industry data standards. You’ll lead a team of builders who thrive on solving complex integration challenges, while working closely with product, clinical, and customer success teams to ensure our platform delivers secure, seamless, and reliable experiences for providers and patients. Your Impact Shape the integration roadmap : Define and deliver a cohesive architecture that connects with FHIR, HL7, DICOM, and partner APIs. Build mission-critical connectors : Lead the design and development of integrations with Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth, Meditech, and other major EHR systems. Set the standard for operations : Establish CI/CD, observability, and reliability best practices; design monitoring, alerting, and automated recovery for production systems. Enable partner success : Develop SDKs, documentation, and sample apps to streamline onboarding and empower developers across the healthcare ecosystem. Lead and scale the team : Recruit, mentor, and inspire integration and reliability engineers; foster a culture that emphasizes ownership, collaboration, and innovation. Collaborate cross-functionally : Partner with product, compliance, and customer teams to align priorities, ensure HIPAA/SOC-2 compliance, and optimize live integrations. What You Bring 6+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years leading and scaling technical teams in high-growth environments Strong background in designing distributed systems and integrations—APIs (REST/gRPC), microservices, messaging frameworks (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and database design (SQL/NoSQL) Hands-on development skills in Python, Node.js, or Go; exposure to React/TypeScript for front-end integration work is a plus Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration (Kubernetes/Docker), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) Familiarity with healthcare compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC-2) and experience with security reviews and threat modeling Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical audiences Knowledge of ML, AI, or LLM-powered systems Bonus Points Experience in early-stage startups, especially in healthtech or AI Contributions to healthcare integration standards or open-source projects Familiarity with LLM-powered workflows, agentic AI systems, or RAG pipelines Background in site reliability engineering or DevOps culture Our Stack Frontend:
