General Information Tell us about the unit(s): Number of Beds – 8 Labor, 14 Postpartum, 3 EDOB and 2 OR Number of Staff – Labor Core Staffing 4, Postpartum Core Staffing 1 (varies with census) Type of staff:
Day Shift – 1 CNC, 1 Triage, 2 RN, 1-2 OB Scrub Tech Night Shift - 1 CNC, 1 Triage, 2 RN, 1 OB Scrub Tech
Patient Ratios – Labor: 1-2:1, Postpartum: 3-4 couplets:1 RN Type of equipment – EFM, FSE, IUPC, SCDs, IV pumps, Medication scanning, Supply scanning EMR – CPN and Meditech Typical hiring profile Skill Set Most recruited for:
(Travel RNs, local CNAs and sitters)
Must have :
candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. BLS ACLS NRP Intermediate Fetal Monitoring/C-EFM (for Labor and Delivery) Competence in cervical exams Preferred or nice to have :
candidates with these skills will be considered first. Previous Labor and Delivery Experience Magnesium Therapy Experience (Postpartum) List typical procedures performed on unit(s): Cervical Exams FSE/IUPC placement Cesarean Sections (scheduled and emergent) Vaginal Deliveries Vacuum assisted deliveries Best personality Fit: Flexible Critical thinking Confidence in the role Calm under pressure
