Addison Group is partnering with a mission-driven nonprofit organization to hire a Benefits Manager on a contract basis. The organization is preparing for open enrollment and is looking for someone with deep, hands-on experience in benefits administration who can step in and provide seamless support during a parental leave. Job Description This Benefits Manager role will be responsible for overseeing the administration of employee benefit programs including open enrollment, leave management, wellness initiatives, insurance billing, and compliance reporting. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a detailed, fast-paced HR environment and can independently manage day-to-day benefits operations with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities

Serve as the main point of contact for all benefits-related inquiries and issues Lead the open enrollment process, including system updates, testing, and employee communications Administer FMLA, short-term disability, and ADA accommodations Manage benefits data accuracy and monthly insurance billing; conduct regular audits Ensure compliance with applicable regulations (HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ERISA, etc.) Partner with vendors and brokers to resolve issues and manage escalations Maintain benefits documentation and assist with preparation of annual 5500 filings Support onboarding and offboarding benefit-related tasks for employees Communicate updates and guidance to internal HR team and staff as needed Qualifications

6–10 years of experience in a dedicated benefits role (Benefits Manager or Administrator) Deep knowledge of health, dental, life, disability, retirement, and wellness programs Strong understanding of compliance requirements and federal/state regulations Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel); HRIS experience preferred (UKG a plus) Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience will be considered Strong attention to detail, accountability, and ability to work independently Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Non-profit or association experience is a plus Additional Details
