The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. See the Professorial Series (Adjunct, Clinical X, HS Clinical, In Residence, Ladder Rank) and Professor of Teaching Series - Health Sciences Compensation Plan. This position includes membership in the health science compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

Clinical
(Neurology) Series
The Department of Neurology, University of California, Irvine anticipates faculty openings at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor levels within the Clinical Neurology Series. We seek candidates specializing in the following areas:
General Neurology
Alzheimer's Disease and other Dementias
Epilepsy, Headache
Movement Disorders
Multiple Sclerosis
Cognitive Neurology
Neurogenetics
Neurohospitalist Medicine
Neuromuscular Disease
Neuro-Oncology
Neuropsychology
Pain Management
Sleep Medicine, and Stroke
Candidates must have demonstrated capabilities for teaching, professional service and/or research suitable to the Clinical of Neurology series. The predominant responsibilities are teaching, clinical service, and engagement in creative activities with a heavy emphasis on teaching and/or clinical service.
Candidates should hold a M.D., M.D./Ph.D., D.O., or equivalent degree with active board certification or eligibility in Neurology and or Neurology subspecialties.
Criteria for the Professor of Clinical "Neurology" Series:
The successful candidate will be expected to conduct significant research, deliver high-quality patient care, and teach fellows, residents, and medical students. In addition, contributing to both University and public service is an important part of the role. Exceptional teaching skills are a key requirement for appointment in this series.
The incumbent will participate in patient care, teach residents and students, perform university and public service, and demonstrate professional competency and activity.

Positions are dependent upon funding. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on availability of support.
