Job Summary

The Loudoun County, Virginia Department of Planning & Zoning (DPZ) is seeking an administrative professional to serve as Planning Assistant in a large multifaceted community that is leading growth in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. The successful candidate will perform complex administrative, customer service, and special project work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Proofreading, preparing, copying, and distributing meeting packets for the Boards/Commissions/Committees. * Tracking legislative land use applications, Comprehensive Plan Amendments, Zoning Ordinance Amendments, and other DPZ items scheduled on the agendas of various Boards and Commissions (DPZ Agenda Forecast). * Tracking the status of legislative applications (Land Use Review (LUR) Caseload Report), including tracking of inactive case timelines. * Assisting the LUR team with case management and data entry in the LandMARC system, including tracking and uploading documentation associated with active legislative land use cases. * Coordinating dates, deadlines, public notices, documentation, and presentations with associated Boards/Commissions/Committees. * Reconciling daily receipts or accounts receivables/payables for the LUR division. Entering receivable and payable documents and credit card payments in Oracle in accordance with the County Procurement Department's policies and procedures. * Creating requisitions, change orders, direct payments, budget tracking (LUR and Planning Commission only), and travel expenses (LUR and Planning Commission only) for the Department, LUR division, or Planning Commission. * Ordering supplies for the LUR division and Planning Commission. * On-boarding new employees (i.e. equipment set up, first day agenda, orienting to the department and LUR Division). * Assisting with FOIA requests and other projects that require research and the gathering of information. * Cross-training and completing other administrative duties as assigned.

Hiring salary is commensurate with experience

Minimum Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent; three (3) years of related clerical/administrative work experience with computer automated systems and office applications experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

This position requires a valid driver's license, DMV, and criminal background checks. This position is eligible for two (2) days telework after an initial training period.
