U.S.VETS-the nation's largest nonprofit dedicated to preventing and ending veteran homelessness-is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Intake Specialist to join our team. This is an ideal role for someone who is highly organized, enjoys working with people, and wants to be the welcoming face that helps veterans take the first step toward housing, stability, and wellness.

As an Intake Specialist, you'll guide veterans and their families through the intake and eligibility process, ensuring they feel supported from the moment they enter our programs. You'll work closely with case managers, housing specialists, and program leadership to make sure veterans are quickly connected to the services and resources they need.

What You'll Do

• Be the First Point of Contact: Conduct screenings and assessments to determine program eligibility and assist veterans with enrollment.

• Guide Clients Through Intake: Complete intake packets, enter information into program databases, and ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date.

• Support Program Orientation: Conduct individual or group orientations so veterans understand program guidelines and available services.

• Keep Records Organized: Enter and maintain client data in systems such as MyCaseRecords (MCR) and the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).

• Ensure Smooth Coordination: Work with case managers, housing/outreach specialists, and program coordinators to track services and outcomes.

• Assist With Reporting: Help compile information for monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

• Provide Program Support: Assist with aftercare follow-up, maintain archived files, and support the team with program supplies and special projects.

• Track Temporary Financial Assistance for clients in SSVF or GPD Transitional Housing programs.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social services or a related field preferred.

• At least 1 year of experience in social services or a related field required

• Experience working with veterans or the homeless populations a plus.

• Strong communication, organizational, and data-entry skills.

• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a collaborative team.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Valid driver's license with clean driving record (must meet company insurance requirements and complete driver training).
