Job Description:
We are seeking a technically skilled eDiscovery Collection Specialist to support the legal team with Purview-centric eDiscovery activities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in data collection from enterprise systems, preferably with Microsoft-specific tools, and will execute tactical tasks related to downstream post-preservation processes including data collection, search, review set creation, Early Case Assessment (ECA), reporting, exports, and outbound data transfers. An additional or combined role opportunity exists for an eDiscovery and Forensic Collection Specialist to support digital forensics and enhance defensible, repeatable processes for digital evidence collection across various digital assets including mobile devices, departing employee laptops, cloud storage, and corporate platforms.
Responsibilities:
Perform data collection and processing from enterprise systems, primarily utilizing Microsoft Purview. Support post-preservation eDiscovery workflows such as search, review set creation, ECA tasks, reporting, and data exports. Manage outbound data transfers related to eDiscovery matters. Maintain and improve defensible, repeatable collection processes for digital evidence. Execute forensic collection methodologies for mobile devices, laptops, and other digital assets. Identify and implement collection techniques for cloud storage and corporate platforms. Collaborate closely with legal, IT, and security teams to ensure compliance with data preservation and collection protocols. Support and potentially lead forensic collections using specialized software tools. Provide subject matter expertise or training support on digital forensics and eDiscovery collection tools.
Experience:
Proven experience with enterprise data collection in an eDiscovery context, preferably with Microsoft Purview. Familiarity with eDiscovery review platforms such as Relativity's RelOne or equivalent. Experience or willingness to learn forensic collection tools, including but not limited to: Mobile device forensic software: Magnet Forensics Verakey, Cellebrite, Pinpoint Labs. Asset collection software: OpenText EnCase, Logicube, Pinpoint Labs. Understanding of digital forensics principles and best practices. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and defensibility of collection processes.
