The
Graphic Designer
is responsible for creating the design elements, from start to finish, for the Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada (GSSNV) including graphic design and illustrations for patches, program guidebooks, signage, apparel, collateral, billboards, and more. You will collaborate closely with the Director of Marketing and Development and the Membership and Program teams to understand project objectives and deadlines and deliver high-quality visual solutions that effectively communicate our organization's message.
The Graphic Designer is responsible for managing all design projects including having and leading design meetings with all cross-functional departments. She/ he/they will be responsible for coordinating and managing the production of print jobs. The Graphic Designer is responsible for maintaining brand deadlines and helping team(s) stay on deadlines. She/he/they must have a collaborative, can-do, positive, deadline-driven, and self-starter attitude. They need to demonstrate leadership and ownership of all design projects, demonstrate time and project management, and organization. The Graphic Designer will work with internal departments to understand business objectives and create effective marketing collateral. She/he/they will recommend visual communication strategies and tactics that effectively promote Girl Scouting and uphold GSSNV image within brand guidelines.
The Graphic Designer will proactively and responsively support the goals of the marketing and communications team, other internal departments, and external stakeholders using graphic design. She/he/they will need to have a knowledge of digital photography, videography, illustrating, and effects as needed when needed. The Graphic Designer will contribute to creating high quality and error-free marketing materials. She/he/they will determine which projects should be produced internally and which by outside vendors, manages the delivery and execution of completed work within budget and timelines.
This position is primarily office-based and may require working outside of normal business hours to complete projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop innovative and visually appealing design concepts, layouts, and graphics that align with project objectives, budgets, timelines and brand guidelines. Creates a wide range of visual content, from print and digital graphics to video and motion graphics, for various platforms like social media and websites. Demonstrate a strong work ethic, creative thinking, and attention to detail in all design projects Develop a deep understanding of GSUSA "brand voice", stay current with GSUSA marketing and brand guidelines, monitor the GSUSA Brand Center continuously and help other GSSNV staff members understand the guidelines. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines while maintaining high-quality design and brand standards Implement feedback and changes whenever possible and proofread projects to ensure that accurate and high-quality work is produced. Work with marketing team to support website and social media campaigns and create content through messaging, graphics, and creative campaigns that garner support for GSSNV's initiatives. Platforms include Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X and LinkedIn. Manage all projects submitted to outside vendors, ensuring smooth coordination and delivery of projects within budget, timelines, and quality requirements. Stay up to date with industry trends, design techniques, and emerging technologies to bring fresh ideas and innovative approaches to design projects Participates in reporting, budgeting, goal setting, and strategic planning to support and develop short-term and long-term departmental strategies, budgets, and risk management systems. Prepare check requests or purchase order requests when needed. Attend and participate in team meetings and other all-staff meetings and events. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts or a related field. Minimum 2 - 4 years' work experience in the creative field, preferably in a nonprofit organization Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, sufficient technical ability to easily work in multiple digital environments such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud and AEM. Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite for Mac (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator; Premiere Pro, Lightroom) and Canva is a plus. Project management skills with proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and continually changing work environment. Knowledge of color theory and balance is a must. Entrepreneurship mindset: self-starter, strategic, detail oriented, creative, positive, solution driven. Ability and willingness to adopt new technology, fluent in use of mobile devices (tablets, smart phones), quick to learn new software and eager to embrace new applications such as Volunteer Systems/ Salesforce Proven oral and written communication abilities-- copywriting skills is a must Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to be a team player collaborating with cross- functional teams. Embrace constructive feedback and comfortable with hands on teaching. Ability to project a high level of professionalism while networking in the public arena. Ability to speak passionately and with conviction about the organizational mission and its importance. Experience in shooting, editing, and retouching high quality video for various platforms. Experienced in photo retouching, photo-manipulation, and compositing as well as reformatting and resizing digital and print files to multiple dimensions and file format. Ability to own, plan, manage, and execute projects from beginning to end is a must. Attention to detail in composing, editing and proofreading materials. Ability to work independently and prioritize work while managing multiple deadlines. Demonstrably strong analytical skills, as well as problem-solving and conflict management capabilities Commitment to excellence and to the mission of the Girl Scouts. Work Monday to Friday during office hours with the ability to work a flexible schedule to work events that take place outside of regular work hours, including occasional weekends. Ability to support events that, on occasion, take place outside regular work hours. Sufficient eye-to-hand coordination to successfully operate a computer keyboard. Ability to sit upright for extended periods of time. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Valid Driver's License required. Must have personal transportation and ability to drive, maintain personal auto insurance, and meet the council insurance company's requirements for coverage. Maintain CPR and First Aid certifications upon hire. Maintain Girl Scouts Membership upon hire.
