Reports To: Production Supervisor

Department: Production

Essential Responsibilities

The Automotive Electrician ($20-$26), under the direction of a supervisor; install, maintain, identify faults, and repair electrical wiring and computer-based systems in all electrical parts contained in automotive vehicles/buses.

The Automotive Electrician Helper ($18-$22) assists Electrician with tasks such as measuring, cutting, bending wire using hand tools, communicating well with others, and taking directions from management.

Specific Responsibilities

• Complete or assist Electrician with basic hand tools (pliers, electrician scissors, wire strippers, soldering irons).
• Repair and replace faulty wiring or electrical systems.
• Knowledge of electrical components related to automotive electrical systems and safety codes.
• Diagnose and determine corrective actions for electric power controlling equipment (e.g., switch gear, circuit breakers).
• Solder or weld when repairing electrical parts.
• Perform additional cross-functional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 to 3 years of electrical experience or 1 year of related technical training.
• Familiarity with National Electrical Code, starters, control relays.
• Competency in automotive electrical troubleshooting and repair techniques.
• Knowledge of wiring and connectivity technologies and standards.
• Experience working on or above 600V to 69 kV high voltage systems.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

Physical Requirements

• Carry, pull, and push up to 50 pounds.
• Climb ladders.
• Sit, stand, stoop, kneel, squat, crouch, or crawl.
• Twist or turn in confined spaces.
