The Opportunity : The Department of Finance and Operational Excellence within Facilities and Business Operations (FBO) is seeking to hire a Finance Budget Analyst III to support strategic planning and operational decision-making across the organization. This role will collaborate closely with leadership to drive financial insight, support resource allocation, and contribute to new revenue strategies. In addition, the Finance Budget Analyst III will develop and analyze budgets and forecasts, produce executive-level reports, and maintain accurate financial records.
Responsibilities:
Develop, analyze, and manage budgets and forecasts aligned with departmental strategic goals.
Prepare financial reports, conduct variance analysis, and offer actionable recommendations.
Support decision-making through ad hoc reports and scenario modeling.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger transactions and related systems.
Design and deliver high-level financial dashboards and executive reports.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial operations.
Manage daily financial activities for assigned cost centers, including billing and collections.
Build strong working relationships with department leaders and deliver excellent service.
Maintain business process documentation and recommend policy optimizations.
Lead or participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219(6).
Preferred Qualifications :
5+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.
Experience in developing financial reporting and visualizations.
Advanced proficiency in financial analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, charts, and macros.
Strong skills in data analysis, trend identification, and storytelling through data.
Demonstrated experience in critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical decision-making.
Familiarity with Workday or similar financial systems is preferred.
Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
Proven ability to effectively communicate with leadership and senior management, including the preparation and presentation of financial reports and recommendations.
Demonstrated commitment to customer service and ability to foster and maintain partnerships with various stakeholders.
Professional financial certifications or credentials are highly desirable.
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools.
Special Instructions to the Applicants: The anticipated salary range for this position is $64,518 to $74,000. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
This is an Auxiliary (AUX) funded position. Employment is subject to availability of funding and may cease at the time funding for this employment is depleted
Position requires a valid Class E driver's license. The position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.
